In the Heart of Alabama, neighbors helping neighbors is more than a saying, it’s a way of life. This past week, that spirit was on full display as our mobile food drive made its way through Autaugaville and surrounding areas, delivering nourishment, encouragement, and a sense of community to those who needed it most.
With the rising cost of groceries and continued economic challenges, food insecurity remains a real issue for many families. That’s why Heart of Alabama launched the Mobile Food Drive Initiative. A mission on wheels committed to meeting people where they are, one box of food at a time.
Our team of volunteers and community partners loaded up vans and trucks with non-perishable goods, fresh produce, and household essentials, then hit the road with one goal in mind: serve with love and dignity. We set up shop at the Eleven86 Real Artesian Water Plant, handing out food, sharing smiles, and listening to the stories of our community members.
Seniors who can’t travel far, single parents juggling multiple jobs, and families doing their best to make ends meet were all reminded that they are seen, valued, and supported.
We’re proud to say that in just one day, over 150 families were served. But this is just the beginning. The Heart of Alabama mobile food drive in partnership with MRaine River Association will continue rolling, because every family deserves a full plate, and every community deserves a helping hand.
How You Can Help:
• Donate non-perishable goods or funds
• Volunteer to pack or distribute food
• Spread the word in your community
Together, we can rebuild, restore, and reimagine what a strong, supported Autaugaville looks like — one stop, one family, and one heart at a time.
Stay connected. Stay hopeful. Stay in motion.
